Denpasar, October 9, 2025 - In commemoration of World Sight Day 2025, Bali Mandara Eye Hospital held an eye health examination and eye health education activity with the topic "Computer Vision Syndrome" presented by Dr. I Ketut Aryawan, Sp.M, Ophthalmologist of Neuro Opthalmologist subdivision of Bali Mandara Eye Hospital.

This activity aims to raise awareness among the public and health workers about the impact of using digital devices on eye health, especially in the modern era where daily activities rely heavily on computers, cellphones, and other gadgets.

In his presentation, Dr. I Ketut Aryawan, Sp.M explained that Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a collection of symptoms that arise from prolonged use of digital screens, such as tired eyes, blurred vision, dry eyes, and headaches. He also shared some tips to prevent CVS, including:

  • Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes of screen time, rest your eyes for 20 seconds by looking at an object 20 feet away.

  • Adjust the room lighting so that it is not too bright or glaring.

  • Adjust the distance and position of the screen to your eyesight.

  • Keep your eyes moisturized by blinking frequently or using eye drops when necessary.

This education was enthusiastically attended by participants consisting of Bali Mandara Eye Hospital employees and the general public. This activity is expected to increase participants' insight into the importance of maintaining eye health in the digital era.
