OBJECTION MECHANISM

Based on Law No. 14/2008 on Public Information Disclosure

1. If the Information Requester is not satisfied with the decision of the Public Body (e.g. rejecting your request or providing only part of what was requested), then the information requester can file an objection to the superior PPID within 30 (thirty) working days from the time the information request is rejected/other reasons for objection are found. The superior of the PPID shall provide a written response to the objection filed by the information requester no later than 30 (thirty) working days from the receipt/registration of the objection in the objection register. The reasons that can be used to file an objection are as follows:
   • a. refusal based on the reasons for the Exclusion of Public Information;
     b. failure to provide Periodic Information;
     c. failure to respond to Requests for Public Information;
     d. Requests for Public Information are not responded to as requested;
     e. failure to grant a Request for Public Information;
     f. imposition of unreasonable fees, and/or
     g. submission of Public Information that exceeds the time stipulated in Information Commission Regulation Number 1 of 2021 concerning Public Information Service Standards.
2. If the information requestor is not satisfied with the decision of the PPID superior, then the information requestor can file an objection to the Information Commission within 14 (fourteen) working days from the receipt of the decision of the PPID by the Public Information Requestor.
