
MECHANISM FOR REQUESTING PUBLIC INFORMATION
- Information requesters come to the information service desk to fill out an information request form by attaching a photocopy of the ID card of the applicant and information user.
- The officer provides the requester with a receipt of the request for public information.
- The officer processes the request in accordance with the public information request form signed by the applicant.
- If the information requested falls into the exempted category, the PPID submits the reasons in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.
- The officer provides proof of submission of Public Information to the Public Information Applicant.
- Bookkeeping and recording.
TIMEFRAME FOR COMPLETION
- The completion process for fulfilling a request for public information is carried out after the requestor has met the specified requirements;
- Within 10 (ten) working days of receiving the request, the Information Documentation and Management Officer (PPID) will submit a notification stating whether or not the requested information is under its control. PPID may extend the time by no later than 7 (seven) days;
- Submission/distribution/submission of Public Information to applicants for Public Information is carried out directly, via email, fax or postal services;
- If the request for information is accepted, the notification letter shall also include the material of the information provided, the format of the information, whether it is in the form of soft copy or written data, as well as the cost if needed for duplication or recording purposes. If the request for information is rejected, the notification letter shall include the reasons for rejection based on UU KIP.
COST/TARIF
The Information Documentation and Management Officer (PPID) provides the information free of charge, while for duplication or recording, information requesters can duplicate/photocopy themselves around the local Public Agency (PPID) building or provide a blank CD/DVD or flashdisk for recording data and information.
The rights for information requesters based on the Public Information Disclosure Law No. 14/2008 are as follows:
- The Information Requestor has the right to request all information held by the Public Body except:
- Information which, if disclosed and provided to the information requestor, may:
- Obstructing the law enforcement process;
- Interfering with the protection of intellectual property rights and protection from unfair business competition;
- Endangering the defense and security of the State;
- Uncovering Indonesia's natural wealth;
- Detrimental to national economic security;
- Detrimental to the interests of foreign relations;
- Reveal the contents of authentic deeds of a personal nature and the last will or testament of a person;
- Reveal personal secrets;
- Memoranda or letters between Public Bodies or intra Public Bodies which by their nature are confidential except for the decision of the Information Commission or the Court;
- Information that may not be disclosed under the Act.
- Public Bodies may also not provide information that has not been controlled or documented.
- Information which, if disclosed and provided to the information requestor, may:
- Make sure you get a receipt for your information request with a registration number for the information officer/ppid.
- If a receipt is not provided ask the information officer why, perhaps your information request is incomplete.
- The applicant is entitled to a written notification of the acceptance or non-acceptance of the request for information within 10 (ten) working days of receipt of the request for information by the Public Body.
- Public Bodies may extend the time to provide written responses by 1 x 7 working days.
- Fees charged for requests for copies of information based on the Regulation of the Head of the Public Body.
- If the information requestor is not satisfied with the decision of the Public Body (e.g. rejecting your request or providing only part of what was requested), then the information requestor can file an objection to the PPID supervisor within 30 (thirty) working days from the time the information request is rejected.
- The PPID Supervisor shall provide a written response to the objection filed by the Information Requestor no later than 30 (thirty) working days after the written objection filed by the Information Requestor is received.
If the information requestor is not satisfied with the decision of the PPID superior, the information requestor can file an objection to the Information Commission within 14 (fourteen) working days after the response from the PPID superior is received by the public information requestor.
