LASIK and ReLEx SMILE

LASIK (Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a procedure to reduce or eliminate refractive errors. These refractive errors include minus (myopia), known as nearsightedness, plus (hypermetropia), known as farsightedness, and astigmatism. LASIK surgery is not covered by BPJS Kesehatan as it is a cosmetic procedure. BPJS Kesehatan only covers glasses for patients with refractive errors.

Types of LASIK

  1. FemtoLASIK
    is a LASIK procedure where the creation of the flap
    using a laser
  2. SMILE
    is a procedure without a knife / surgery
    so that recovery is fast and complaints of dry eyes
    are minimal

The LASIK procedure is completely painless, with only a local anesthetic in the form of eye drops, you remain conscious during the procedure.
You do not need a hospital stay, the preparation only takes 10-15 minutes, while the laser procedure itself only lasts approximately 30 seconds. The doctor will explain all the steps that will be taken during the procedure. After LASIK most patients see better and 99% see more clearly without glasses the next day.

LASIK screening is an examination performed prior to LASIK to determine whether or not a person can undergo LASIK. The examination includes advanced refractive examination, corneal topography, non contact tonometry, pentacam, and wavescan. Screening results are valid for a maximum of 1 month after the date of the examination.

Eligibility for LASIK

  1. 18 years old and above
  2. Eye condition is healthy
  3. Remove Soft Contact Lens for at least 14 days before LASIK Screening
  4. Remove Hard Contact Lens for at least 30 days before LASIK Screening 
  5. Not Pregnant or Breastfeeding
